Jake founded Christensen Development in 2003 with a passion for urban development. With more than 20 years of experience, Jake has made it his company’s mission to transform not just individual sites but entire areas of the city into thriving community centerpieces, including the Des Moines Social Club, Jackson Crossing apartment complex and City Hall Block. Jake is a dedicated member of the community and serves on a number of boards including, among others, the Des Moines Airport Authority and Greater Des Moines Convention & Visitors Bureau, and Dowling Foundation Board & DCA Board Executive Committee.
Susan joined Christensen Development in 2019 bringing 25 years of legal and business experience to the company. She serves on the board of directors for The Greater Des Moines Public Arts Foundation, MercyOne Foundation, and ChildServe. She is also an active volunteer for the United Way of Central Iowa.
With more than 15 years of experience in construction and land development, Angie specializes in helping clients turn project plans into realities. A skilled owner’s representative, Angie is an invaluable resource to property owners who may not have a developer on their staff. Within the last three years, Angie has contributed to major projects such as Harbach Lofts, Thrasher/Supportworks HQ and the East 2nd Parking Ramp with a combined completion value of $85 million. She serves on the Programming Committee for the Iowa Chapter of the Urban Land Institute, Operation Downtown Board, Zoning Board of Adjustments for the City of West Des Moines, InvestDSM Board, Polk County Housing Trust Fund Development Committee, Enhance Iowa Board, and is a member of the Kingdom Cares 1200 Club.
As Senior Project Coordinator, Kelli manages the day-to-day activities of Christensen Development. She assists in project coordination and manages the firm’s project tracking system. Kelli is also responsible for billing, schedule management, and monthly communications with Christensen Development’s investors and partners.
